My Name Story

A gentle Christmas audio story with your child’s first name in it, and a printable certificate to go with it. Choose from three stories, about 5 to 7 minutes each.

This Christmas we’re running a small pilot: 25 orders only, from Tuesday 1 December to Tuesday 15 December 2026. £6.99 for one child, or £9.99 for siblings.

How we look after your child’s name

Episodes are created and narrated with AI. Some episodes publish automatically. After publishing, the BrightPath team checks every episode for quality and child safety. Each personalised story is listened to by a person before it is sent.

What you get

  • An MP3 audio story, about 5 to 7 minutes long, with your child’s first name said 4 to 6 times along the way
  • A printable A4 certificate with your child’s first name and the story title (a PDF to print at home)
  • Both sent to you by email within 3 working days of your order. If you order on the last day, 15 December, your story arrives by Friday 18 December at the latest.

The stories are gentle and Christmassy, with no scary parts, for children aged about 3 to 8 to enjoy with a grown-up. Everything is digital. Nothing is posted.

Siblings: for £9.99, up to 3 children share one story, with all their names in it, and each child gets their own certificate.

    On Christmas Eve, Mrs Penrose the lighthouse keeper needs a helper to keep the light shining for the Christmas ferry. Up 101 winding stairs you go, to polish the lamp, keep a lookout and sign the logbook.

    On Christmas Eve, the smallest star in the sky is too shy to shine. Someone at a window down below helps it find its sparkle, and the whole sky says thank you.

  • The Nativity Story Box

    Optional: a Christmas story from the Bible

    On Christmas Eve, Auntie Grace next door opens an old wooden box of Nativity figures. As each one comes out, she tells part of the first Christmas, from Luke and Matthew, until it’s time to place the baby in the manger.

The Little Lighthouse Keeper and The Night the Stars Said Your Name aren’t religious, so they suit families of all faiths and none. The Nativity Story Box tells the Christmas story from the Bible, for families who would like it.

How it works

  1. Order. Choose one child or siblings and pay. Straight after checkout you’ll be taken to a short form where you tell us your child’s first name (or up to 3 names for siblings), how to say it if you like, and which story you’d like. That’s all we ask.
  2. We make it. We create the story with an AI voice, with your child’s first name in it, and make the certificate.
  3. A person listens. Before anything is sent, a person at BrightPath listens to the whole story, checks the name is right each time it’s said, and checks the certificate.
  4. We email it to you within 3 working days. Please save the files: we delete our copies 30 days after we send them.

Prices

Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Each order is a one-off purchase: there’s no subscription. Prices include VAT where it applies.

Orders open on Tuesday 1 December 2026 and close at 11:59pm (UK time) on Tuesday 15 December, or sooner if all 25 places go. Join our email list and we’ll tell you when orders open.

Before you order, please read how we look after your child’s name, our terms and conditions, our privacy policy and your cancellation rights. Checkout is run by Payhip.

How we look after your child’s name

  • Grown-ups only. Orders must be placed by the child’s parent or guardian, aged 18 or over. You’ll confirm this at checkout.
  • First name only. We ask only for your child’s first name, an optional note on how to say it, the story you’d like and your email address. Please don’t send us surnames, ages, schools, photos or recordings.
  • No voices, no voice cloning. The story is narrated by an AI voice. We never use or copy your child’s voice, or anyone else’s.
  • Checked by a person. Each personalised story is listened to by a person before it is sent.
  • Deleted after 30 days. We delete your child’s name, the pronunciation note and our copies of the story and certificate 30 days after we send them to you. We keep only what the law requires for our accounts, such as the order number, date and price.
  • Never shown publicly. We never show your child’s name in public, for example in our posts or on this website, unless you give us your written permission.
  • No marketing. Ordering doesn’t sign you up to our emails.

How do you use AI?

Episodes are created and narrated with AI. Some episodes publish automatically. After publishing, the BrightPath team checks every episode for quality and child safety.

Each personalised story is listened to by a person before it is sent.

The stories are told by an AI voice, not a real person, and no real person’s voice has been copied. Your child’s first name is added to the story by the same AI voice.

What if my child’s name is unusual, or hard to say?

We’d love to make it. On the short form after checkout there’s an optional box where you can tell us how to say the name, for example “Niamh: sounds like NEEV” or “stress on the second part: a-LEE-sha”. Please write it down rather than sending a recording.

If we’re not sure, we’ll email you one short question before we make the story. A person checks the name every time it’s said, and if we still get it wrong, we’ll fix it for free (see refunds).

Are there any names you can’t use?

We’ll make a story for any child’s first name, from any language or culture. We won’t use words that are rude or unkind, or the names of real famous people, brands or characters. If we can’t make your story, we’ll tell you why by email and refund you in full.

Are the stories right for my child?

The stories are written for children aged about 3 to 8, to enjoy with a grown-up. They’re gentle, with no scary parts. Two aren’t religious; The Nativity Story Box tells the Christmas story from the Bible.

The stories are for enjoyment. They aren’t a substitute for advice from a professional.

When and how do we get the files?

After you order, you’ll get a confirmation email from Payhip straight away. Then, within 3 working days (Monday to Friday, not UK bank holidays), we’ll email you the MP3 story and the certificate PDF from hello@brightpathaudio.com.

Please save both files when they arrive. We delete our copies 30 days after sending, so we can’t send them again after that.

The MP3 plays on phones, tablets and computers, and you can add it to make-your-own audio cards or figures that you own. BrightPath Audio is independent and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Yoto or Tonies.

Can we get a refund? What are our cancellation rights?

Personalised items. Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you normally have 14 days to cancel an online order. That right doesn’t apply to items made to your specification or clearly personalised, and each My Name Story is made to your specification, with your child’s name. Because it’s also digital content, at checkout we’ll ask you to tick a box (it’s never ticked for you) that says: “I expressly request that BrightPath Audio starts making my personalised story straight away. I understand it is made to my specification, and that once it has been supplied I lose my 14-day right to cancel, except where the law provides another right.” We’ll confirm this in your order email.

Changed your mind? Email us as soon as you can. If we haven’t started making your story, we’ll refund you in full.

Name wrong? Full refund or a free fix. If your child’s name is spelt or said differently from what you told us on the short form after checkout, tell us within 30 days of delivery. We’ll fix it and send it again within 3 working days, or give you a full refund if you’d prefer. Your choice.

Something else wrong? If a file is faulty or isn’t as described, tell us. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we’ll fix or replace it, and if we can’t, you can get some or all of your money back. If we can’t use a name (see above), we’ll refund you in full. None of this affects your other legal rights.

Why only 25 orders?

This is our first Christmas making personalised stories, and a person listens to every one before it’s sent. Keeping the pilot to 25 orders means we can do that properly and still send every story within 3 working days. The limit is real: when the 25 places have gone, we stop taking orders.

Can we order from outside the UK?

Yes. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Your bank or card provider may convert the price into your currency and may charge a fee for this.
